Terms & Conditions of Skip Bin Hire
By hiring a skip bin from Mansfield Bins & Skips, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
1. Hire Period
Our standard hire period is 7 to 10 days.
If the bin is needed for longer than 12 days, additional charges will apply. Extended hire periods must be pre arranged with MBS.
2. Pickup and Bin Swap
A pickup request form will be sent via email. Please complete it to request your preferred pickup date.
If no contact is made and no form is submitted, we will collect the bin on the end date originally booked, or on a date soon after at our discretion.
You may also request a bin swap/changeover using the same form.
3. Waste Charges and Payment
Your skip will be weighed on return and charged according to the waste type. Please see our pricing for more on our weight charges.
Invoices will be issued upon completion of the hire and must be paid within 7 days. Any alternative payment terms must be pre approved by MBS.
Payment is to be made via bank transfer or our online payment system (Pin Payments) using the link provided in your invoice.
If payment is not received by the due date, your card on file will be charged.
4. Saved Card on File
All new customers are required to enter their payment details at the time of booking.
Your card will be securely encrypted and stored using Stripe, a trusted payment processor.
This card will only be charged in the event of non-payment of your invoice by the due date.
You will not be charged upfront or without prior notice, unless payment has not been made within the stated terms.
5. Prohibited Items
The following items are strictly not permitted in any bin:
Asbestos
Liquids, pain, fluids, oils, solvents (including liquid in containers)
Dirt/soil
Hazardous materials
Explosives
Needles and syringes
6. Additional Charges
Additional charges apply for the following items:
Mattresses and soft furnishings
Note: If mattresses are stripped back to bare metal, the surcharge will not apply.
Tyres
Gas bottles
Fridges and freezers

The customer is responsible for any costs, fees or fines incurred through placement of skip bins on Council or government owned property and/or transfer station fines due to prohibited waste materials.
7. Bin Rules & Responsibilities
Do not overfill the skip bin above the top rim (water line). Overfilled bins may incur additional handling fees.
Do not move the skip bin from the original drop-off location without prior approval from Mansfield Skips. Bins are positioned for safe and accessible pickup by our trucks.
Do not place, or allow others to place, any prohibited or non-conforming waste in the skip bin.
Do not light fires in or near the skip bin, or allow any materials to be burned within it.
Do not use the skip bin for any unlawful activity or in any manner that contravenes these terms and conditions or applicable laws.
Do not use the skip bin for any purpose other than the disposal of approved waste materials.
8. Liability
Mansfield Bins & Skips takes care to deliver and collect bins safely and efficiently. However, we are not liable for any damage to driveways, footpaths, lawns, tree roots, underground services, paving, or other surfaces or property resulting from bin delivery, placement, or pickup.
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure adequate access, surface strength, and clearance for safe delivery and removal of the bin.
Mansfield Bins & Skips accepts no responsibility for injury, loss, or damage arising from the customer’s use or handling of the bin once it is delivered.
Bins must not be moved, filled improperly, or used for any unlawful purpose. If a bin is moved without approval or loaded with prohibited or hazardous materials, the customer may be held responsible for removal costs, penalties, or additional handling fees.
Customers are liable for any damage to the bin while it is in their possession, excluding general wear and tear.
9. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia. By using our services, you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria in relation to any dispute or claim arising under or in connection with these Terms.
It is your responsibility to ensure that your use of our service complies with all local council regulations, including any permit requirements for skip bin placement on public land (e.g. nature strip).
10. Agreement
By proceeding with a booking, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
You have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions in full.
You are responsible for the contents placed in the skip, the method of loading, and ensuring compliance with weight limits and material restrictions.
You agree to supply accurate contact and delivery information, and to notify Mansfield Skips of any changes before your scheduled service.
You understand that payment is due within 7 days of invoice, and that your saved card may be charged if payment is not received by the due date.
You acknowledge and consent to Mansfield Skips securely storing your card details using Stripe, and only using this information for the purposes outlined.
You accept all additional charges relating to prohibited items, overfilling, and special item disposal (e.g. mattresses, tyres).
